Please join us on November 25 from 5:30- 7:00 p.m., prior to the Wizards vs. Atlanta Hawks game, for an opportunity to mix & mingle with other Business League members in a night of open business networking. Meet other members of the league to create new contacts and strengthen existing relationships within our business community. Also joining us will be Leila Dunbar (Lee) of Leila Dunbar Appraisals and Consulting, LLC.
From 1999-2008, Lee served as senior vice president and director of Sotheby’s Collectibles department, selling more than $75 million worth of memorabilia. Sports highlights include the bat that Babe Ruth used to hit the very first home run on Grand Opening Day at Yankee Stadium in 1923 ($1.25 million); Dr. James Naismith’s Original Rules of Basketball ($4.38 million); 1919 contract selling Ruth from the Red Sox to the Yankees ($996,000); and Jeff Ellis Antique Golf Club Collection ($2.2 million).
Lee will bring items from her own collection and will appraise items that you bring, be it an Ovechkin signed jersey, a Wall signed basketball or items from any other team! She will also discuss how you can appraise your own items and how you can build a killer collection. Lee will also give the behind the scenes story of the Roadshow million dollar appraisal.
Come for a night of networking, see some items from Leila’s collection, and even bring an item of your own to get appraised in an “Antiques Roadshow” type format. This is a great opportunity to find out how much some of those autographed items you’ve held onto for so many years could be worth.
